Weigh-in: 296.4

It’s has been a couple of weeks since I’ve weighed-in, mostly because I’ve been hellishly busy at work (summertime isn’t the slow-time in Higher-Ed that you’d expect).

As I jumped onto the scale (with Adelman in tow for moral support this time), I was hoping that I would be just under 300 pounds. Okay, “hoping” isn’t the right word. I was mentally sacrificing goats to the weight-loss aspect of Athena (forgive me, I’ve been playing God of War 2 lately), praying heavily to the Christian God, and even silently sending my energies to the Earth Mother in the hopes that I would have finally broken 300.

Needless to say, I was elated! As Scott says, “Eat Less and Move More” and you’re guaranteed to lose the weight.

Thanks to everyone for their tremendous support. A special shout-out goes to Boyfriend for his encouragement along the way, but mostly for his scheduling flexibility; he’s been very gracious in taking care of taking Ethel out for her afternoon walk while I workout at the gym. ILOVEUHUNNEE!

    You know, Joe’s success has trickled down to the rest of us. I also have been more consciencious of my intake/activity levels and have averaged about 5 pounds lighter since this time last month (still some variation, but I weigh myself daily and I need more frequent reinforcement – love them scatter charts, right honey?). I subsequently negotiated an economical gym membership 1/2 block from my office and will be there thrice weekly until Dublin this time next year. Thanks for the motivation, sweetie!!! MWAH!!!

    I just remarked to Roz that getting in shape is an activity that really benefits from a group. I am sure you will both do well!

    Woohoo! 12 days of membership, 7 visits to the gym plus a training session! My phase one will focus on cardio fitness with some strength. Weight loss will happen. My trainer has me on a lot of load bearing exercises, so I will be able to carry my spare tire if I have to. I found a n old chart that said I was 215 when I met Joe, so I want to make that my 6 month goal.
